About TherapaJi
TherapaJi is a South Asian mental health advocacy platform building community networks, hosting podcast conversations, and developing culture-first mental health toolkits. Founded by Amar Banga, TherapaJi serves as the trust and cultural intelligence layer of a broader wellness ecosystem that includes Pomwell (digital wellness tools) and DeepSikh (Sikh identity resources).
TherapaJi’s mission is to build the mental health infrastructure that South Asian communities have been missing — starting with the Punjabi Sikh community and expanding outward.
Founder Bio
Amar Banga is the founder of TherapaJi. With a background spanning sales, real estate, and credit repair — and lived experience navigating bicultural identity as a first-generation Punjabi Sikh American — Amar brings a unique perspective to mental health advocacy.
After receiving an ADHD diagnosis in adulthood, Amar redirected his career toward mental health, recognizing the gap between the support South Asian communities need and the resources currently available. TherapaJi grew from that recognition: a platform built on cultural trust, real conversations, and community-driven tools.
