You Should Not Have to Carry Everything Alone
Maybe you are exhausted from holding it all together. The job, the family, the expectations, yours and everyone else's. You show up, you perform, you handle it. But lately, something feels off. The anxiety that will not quiet down. The heaviness that does not lift. The sense that you are going through the motions but not really living.
Maybe you have thought about therapy before, but something stopped you. The timing was not right. You were not sure you "needed" it. Or maybe you just could not imagine sitting across from a stranger and explaining everything, your history, your family, your whole complicated life, just to be understood.
I get it.
I am Amar. I grew up in California, from Southern California beach towns to the Bay Area, before life brought me to the Chicago suburbs. I know what it is like to start over somewhere new. To feel caught between the person you were raised to be and the person you are becoming. To wonder if wanting something different makes you ungrateful for everything you have.
That tension between loyalty and growth, between fitting in and being yourself, is something I understand deeply. It is part of why I became a therapist. Not to give you advice or "fix" what is wrong, but to create a space where you can finally breathe. Where you can say the things you have never said out loud and figure out what you actually want.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity questions, relationship challenges, and the everyday weight of being human. I also have a particular understanding of bicultural experiences and can offer sessions in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu for those who would prefer it.
When I am not in session, I am usually walking my French Bulldog, Jeffrey, around the neighborhood, practicing the same grounding I talk about with clients. He is a good reminder that sometimes healing is just slowing down and noticing what is right in front of you.
